I've Come for You by sighthoundlady I've Come for You by sighthoundlady
Ah maybe a little bit of explaining about this but not too much, illustration of things that maybe to come. Haven’t seen Woden in some time and his appearance here may not be the best, as some may not appreciate his purpose in meeting young Neela. Many have known Woden as something friendly and cute, mostly harmless. But in reality he is a very, very old Fae and as a result very powerful. He can easily become something terrible and many times in his history and long life, he’s been just that. Neela is something that shouldn’t have happened, something that could one day be terrible too, an accident no fault of her own, she bears the memory and knowledge of her entire maternal line, back to the oldest, most ancient of Fae. She could one day become so powerful that none could stop her. The Old Fae are concerned. And Woden has come to exact their will. While she is young and relatively frail.

And I probably said too much there!

Anyways some further babbling about design and concept, Woden’s markings are ephemeral and changing, fairy runes that are full of magic and may never appear the same way twice. Just attempting to look at them and they will defy perception. Neela’s wings don’t actually exist in a physical sense in most realms, only becoming fully real in the land of Faery, but in certain light and when the weave between worlds is thin, they may shine through in other realms as well.

I really love the back story to these characters, kind of reminds me of Alia of The Knife, from Dune. A young Bene Gesserit so powerful that she has all the memories of her past ancestors in her head, making her incredibly dangerous.

Is there somewhere where I can read a comic? I am intrigued by this story, I would love to know more.

You have an exquisite art style!

Jeez this is wonderful.
Love the fact the big dark cervine creature is named "Woden". Very cool character design.

As well, he reminds me a wee bit of a figure in Saami Mythology so maybe one reason why I'm very partial to him, other than the fact that this is some lovely artwork here. :aww:

-slowly wraps self around Neela and spoils her- She's so precioussss.

I actually had a question concerning proportions; how do you measure the head/body ratio for human faced deer? Or is it different for each one you do? ouo

Good question!  Wish I knew the answer!  Ha!  But yeah, that’s just something I always guess at really.  Basic guidelines is that children/fawns have larger head sizes in comparison to their bodies then adults.  Still often a difficult thing to judge with a fantasy creature I’d say.

haha Oh wow, look at Neela's eyes. Wasn't expecting that! I've gotta say, I like Woden. I prefer skullheads overall and he does it very nicely.

Oh her eyes?  I guess they are closed in most the art I've drawn of her.  But she has dark purple almost black sclera, her irises are light blue, almost white.

Oh well, haha, I actually meant the story component.  Mostly just things that have been whistling around in my head.  But thank you.  My sketches are horrendous.  This is most definitely not sketch!

Ah thanks so much, can’t take complete ownership of that though, mythology about the Fae and about The Wild Hunt I can never own, I just warp it to my own purposes as I see fit.

Again, if you made these characters and world into a series of novels, I'd buy each and ever one and read them over and over again. I rarely read fiction, and this is a series of 'story concepts' even though an RPG, I'd read for sure.

Ah thank you so much!  I really worry that I’m just boring people with my “stories” so it means a lot that people are interested in them.  Doubt I’ll ever write any kind of novel, I’m admittedly a poor writer, just batter my way through some somewhat acceptable RP when I can. ;)

Your cervine art is always so beautiful :3. I used to feel somewhat creeped out by the human faced deer, but now they kind of grew on me XD.

Thank you!  And yes, I know human faced animals are just hard for the human eye to accept a lot of times.  I’m so used to them I forget how hard that can be to get past at first.  They are especially challenging to draw too!
