Gorgeous! :> Love the light gestures on the coat, and the shaggier hair along the belly and jaw.

I really like how you did the gloss on his hair and the body angle is very nicely done!

So, to have something drawn of a character of mine by you in your style like this is so, so special... This is something to treasure for me, and I will admit, I'm printing it out tonight, framing it, and it's going to the barn to hang in my tack room. Maybe it will motivate my old fellow to lose that hay belly of his. *huge grin*
I adore this. Everything is downright stunning, and so, so spot on, from Kohl's quiet, thoughful expression (I am completely blown away by the quality of the eye - blue eyes are SO hard to do, and you did it so easily and naturally.)
He's gorgeously masculine, from the heavy weight of his forehand with the lifted foot to his shoulders and slope of hip. I love the rough edge of coat on his belly and jaw - what a perfect touch, as if it's starting to thaw and he's shedding out his winter coat to match the snowmelt beneath him. The braiding is wonderful, with the tassles and the ribbons in there, with the brass rings woven in.
The colors are so soft and quiet. Plus, the background *heart* I love backgrounds, although I'm the first to admit I'm awful at them. It's one of the things I've always loved about your peices.
You tied this all together in so well, from the dry brown and pale grass to the lovely blue, cool shading on the snow itself, and that touch that warms it up from the pines. How neat, too, that the domes of the city rising from the mist and clouds behind ties it all back to the Russian steppes.
I just love it. All of it. Thank you, thank you so much...
